Restore faded and yellowed photos
Colour prints from the 1960s to the 1990s fade unevenly: the dyes go first, leaving an orange or magenta cast, milky blacks and skin tones that have drifted away from anything human. Restore is deliberately not a colour rewriter. It clears the dust, scratches and creases on the surface and hands the photograph back with its own tones, at its own resolution. That is the honest position: the dye information is gone from the print, and inventing a replacement palette would hand you a new photograph rather than yours.

Why we don't correct the cast for you
Raising contrast on a yellowed photo only makes it a brighter yellow, and rebuilding the palette properly means guessing what the dyes used to be. Restore leaves that judgement to you and returns a clean, full-resolution copy of the print you actually have — which is the right starting point if you do want to grade it afterwards in an editor.
Faded black-and-white prints too
Sepia-shifted and low-contrast monochrome prints keep their tone: Restore clears the surface damage and does not neutralise the sepia or add colour of its own. If you would rather see one in colour, run the same photo through Colorize afterwards — a separate and deliberate step.

- It depends what you want from it. Restore will clear the surface damage and give you a clean, full-resolution copy, but it will not put the lost colour back — a washed-out print comes back washed-out and clean. If the attempt fails outright, it costs nothing.
