Old photographs fade, yellow, crack and blur — often all at once. Rather than asking you to diagnose the damage, our restoration engine works on the surface of the print: the dust, scratches, creases and album marks sitting on top of the picture. What it does not do is repaint the photograph underneath — the people, the objects, the pose and the original tones come back as they were, at the original resolution. Colour fading itself is not painted over; Colorize covers black-and-white prints, and Enhance covers soft or low-resolution scans.

One upload, no tools to learn
You do not choose between a scratch tool, a dust tool and a crease tool, and there are no sliders to set. Upload the photo and one pass clears the surface damage it finds across the whole print. Colour and resolution are left as they are: if you also want colour on a black-and-white print that is Colorize, and if the scan is soft or small that is Enhance.

The restoration is designed to preserve the person in the photograph. It is a conservative repair rather than a generative rebuild, so a face is not replaced with a generated one that merely looks similar. Where damage has destroyed part of the picture, that part stays missing instead of being invented to make the image look complete.
